Rob has enjoyed practicing law in St. Catharines since his call to
the Bar
in 1975. For over twenty years he was a partner with
Harris, Barr which became
Daniel, Wilson. In 2001 Rob and Geoff Spurr
established the firm of
Wilson, Spurr LLP to concentrate on
their preferred practice areas for the benefit
of their clients.
Rob is legal advisor to many local businesses, not for profit organizations and
has
a large individual clientele. Rob has extensive experience in all aspects of
business
law, real estate, wills and estates. A unique specialty of Wilson,
Spurr LLP is acting
as counsel to a large number of provincial farm groups,
farm marketing boards,
co-ops and associations.
Rob has presented a number of papers on agricultural law both at the Canadian
Bar
Association, Ontario Branch and The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and food.
In addition to acting as legal counsel to major farm organizations, Rob has
provided legal advice to the federal and several provincial/territorial governments
on
regulated marketing issues.
Rob provides ongoing strategic advice to both his business and institutional clients
on
such things as government relations, risk management, procurement and corporate
governance. Rob has handled numerous corporate mergers, acquisitions and
reorganizations
for his varied commercial clientele.
Rob is a graduate of Trent University and received his Juris Doctor (LLB) degree
from
the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Ontario.Rob is a Past President
of the
St. Catharines & Thorold Chamber of Commerce and is involved in the local community.
Rob is married with 2 grown children and lives in St. Catharines, Ontario.
